Safety Tips for Burning Your Candle
1. Always place your candle on a non-combustible, heat resistant, fireproof base set on a level surface. This is important for any candle - pillar or container. When the candle burns down to the bottom of the container or pillar, there could be enough heat to damage furniture. The flame should be kept away from the side of the container as this could cause the container to crack. Do not handle a burning candle as it can burn you. Discontinue using the candle when it is 1 inch from the bottom.
2. Keep burning candles away from children and pets.
3. Keep your burning candles away from all flammable or combustible materials.
4. Never leave candles burning unattended. Keep the wick trimmed to 1/8 inch. A good burn time is about 2 - 4 hours depending on the diameter of the candle. A candle should be burned for 1 hour per inch of diameter. (3" diameter candle = burn for 3 hours). This set the "memory" of the candle and will allow for a safer burning candle. At the end of your burn, extinguish the flame and let cool. Check the wick before relighting and again trim it to 1/8 inch if needed. Keep the wick centered.
5. Never leave wick trimmings, matches, or any other material in the wax pool. Leaving these types of items in the wax pool can create a hazard
6. Keep your candles out of drafts. This will affect the way your candle burns.
7. Your pillars do not need to be "hugged". The palm wax candles leave a glowing shell as they burn. Do not break off the shell. Burn your pillar for 1 hour per inch of diameter of the candle and then blow it out! This will help prevent "blow outs" on the side of your pillar. Remember to place your pillar on a non-combustible, heat resistant, level surface such as a candle plate.
8. Keep candles out of direct sunlight. Sunlight can cause your candle to fade.
WARNING: Failure to follow instructions can result in burn, fire injury and/or property damage.
